If you walk past Time Square New York, you might see a striking image.
The image is of a Samburu woman plastered in large banners on the Times Square building
That is none other than Kenyan activist Josephine Kulea, the Founder and the executive director of Samburu Girls Foundation.
Josephine has been in the forefront in rescuing girls from FGM, Child Marriage and beading.
Her efforts have been recognized widely including 2011 unsung hero by former US ambassador to Kenya Michael Ranneberger during the international women’s day, 2012 Head of State Commendation (HSC) for community service, 2013 East Africa Acumen Fellow, 2013 Covaw Champion, and the prestigious UN in Kenya Person of the Year 2013, Inspiring Woman 2014 and YALI Fellow 2014 by the Young African Leaders Fellowship.
