Two weeks after pledging to work together to unite the country, President Kenyatta and National Super Alliance (Nasa) leader Raila Odinga on Sunday made another unexpected joint public appearance.
The two leaders graced the closing of the 2018 Barclays Kenya Open golf tourney held at Muthaiga Golf Club in Nairobi. Uhuru and Raila were pictured chatting at the function alongside other leaders drawn from both Jubilee and the opposition.
"It was nice watching the 2018 Barclays Kenya Open but I think I'll stick to watching the Mighty Gor Mahia," Raila wrote on his Twitter handle.
Italian golfer Lorenzo Gagli won the tournament after edging out runners-up, Swedish golfer Fahrbring Jens and took home Sh10 million price. The tournament attracted 156 golfers, including 22 Kenyan professionals, 6 amateurs and more than 100 European Challenge Tour players.
Accompanying the two was Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala, MPs and other government officials. Reports indicate the two are set to embark on joint rallies beginning in Nyanza and later to other regions
