Kenyan Man - Allan Onucko - Crashed to Death By an 18-Wheeler Truck in Texas

A Kenyan man died after he was hit by an 18-wheeler truck in Harrison County, Texas on Friday.
US-based media KLTV reports that 42-year-old Allan Onucko was walking along Interstate 20 around 5:22am when a truck struck him.
The deceased was accompanied by his younger brother, Gilbert Otieno, a lawyer who runs a Nairobi-based law firm, George Gilbert Advocates.
“He was with his younger brother and they ran out of fuel that morning. So, he decided to rush to a nearby fueling station to buy fuel and that is how he was knocked by a truck,” Onucko's aunt, Susan Oruya says.
After he was knocked down by the truck, Onucko was run over by other vehicles, crashing his body to pieces.
The accident comes two weeks after Onucko, who hails from Homa Bay County, returned to the US on December 19th, 2018 after visiting his family in Kenya for five days.
Onucko moved to the US in 2002 as a permanent resident and has been living in Wisconsin with his wife and daughter.  His wife Everline is pregnant with their second child and had planned to hold her baby shower on Sunday, January 6th.
Plans to airlift his remains to Kenya for burial are ongoing.

That's a very insensitive way of reporting a death Mwakilishi. Crashed to death and body cut into pieces by another car. Atakama nikutafuta followers. There are more sensitive ways of reporting and respecting the departed and their families.
As I read the headline, I thought the same way. It doesn’t hurt to say Allan was “hit” by a truck, instead of “crashed” I don’t even think they need to report it was an 18 wheeler. Sad.
@Alternative thinka. I have said many times (on this Forum) that 99% of Kenyans have Rotten hearts; as such have No hearts. So for the sake of the Bereaved: Just "take heart".
Completely agree with you. Journalism comes with responsibility. Please, MWakilishi, have that in mind while putting information to the public. Remember words matter and how it is put makes a difference. Family members are already in pain, please don't add to their pain by putting more gruesome color to what is already tragic. I know some times dramatizing article add more readers, but when writing such a tragic event, please put dramatization aside and ask yourself if you were a brother or a sister to the deceased would you like to be hit by such words. Such dramatization may end up haunting some relatives more than the death itself!

Everyone who drives in the US knows that US highways are closed to pedestrians and bicycles to prevent tragic incidents such as this. Common sense dictates that you should remain in your vehicle if it stalls and call 911 or a road rescue service. Crossing the highway where vehicle speeds average 140 km per hour is courting death, whatever the reason.

May his soul R.I.P.To the bereaved, take heart.Additionally I wish folks were respectful of the departed and instead of baseless decorum just express condolences and thank the reporters. Some of us deserve no less than censorship.

Folks atragic and fatal accident happened. No point talking about-shoulda-coulda-woulda.The victim may have made a poor judgment that resulted in his death.Who amongest us hasnot made amistake and fortunately did not turn tragic? How many ihave had sex without protecting?Yes accidents happen as much as we try to avoid them. Some with catastrophic consequences.
Lets not second guest where the blame lies. Its done, its over. All we can do is to console the family, help where we can and hope for the best.Iam not a prophet of doom, but this is not the lasttime will read about tragedy.Iwish it was,but we are living in a world of accidents among other evil things,or bad things.Vehicle are very covenient, better than donkeys and oxes which don't kill us much. But we have to accept that our good machines, when they go wrong due to human error or otherwise, misfortunes occur.
