US Issues Security Alert to Kenya

Days after the deadly January 15th terror attack in Nairobi, the United States has issued a security alert to Kenya.
In a statement posted on its Twitter account, the US embassy in Nairobi has urged Kenyans to be more vigilant, especially in public places.
“The US Embassy reminds the public of the continued need for sustained vigilance in public spaces such as shopping malls, hotels, and places of worship,” reads the statement posted on Friday.
The attack at DusitD2 complex in Westlands, Nairobi left 21 people dead, including 16 Kenyans and one American national.
Somalia-based Islamic terrorist organization, Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it was in retaliation to US President Donald Trump's decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital city of Israel.
“The Mujahideen (holy warriors) carried out this operation ... (as) a response to the witless remarks of U.S. president, Donald Trump, and his declaration of Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as the capital of Israel," the Militia group said in a statement days after the attack.
