Kenya govt officials to get Sh10 million cars from taxpayers money

TOP state officers can now buy a car worth Sh10 million, courtesy of the taxpayer.
The latest gazette notice cites the Sh1 billion revolving fund announced by Treasury CS Henry Rotich on October 5.
The officers include Cabinet Secretaries, the Attorney General, Secretary to the Cabinet and the Auditor General.
The fund allows Cabinet Secretaries and governors to enjoy up to Sh40 million mortgate loans.
Car loan credit will also be available to the lowest-paid civil servants, who will be legible for a Sh600,000 loan at low interest rates.
Principal secretaries, the Controller of Budget as well as chairs and members of independent commissions are entitled to a Sh8 million loan.
The scheme became effective last month.
