Jane Mwangi is a young remarkable journalist from Nairobi , Kenya.
About a year ago, she was a victim of armed robbery as she was walking home from church. She sustained a spinal injury related to the incident and has defied all odds in her recovery journey.
Her story has been aired by many media outlets in Kenya (Read: [VIDEO: Help me walk again, pleads Jane Mwangi) and was also featured here in Dallas by WFAA Channel 8.
Through God’s grace, Jane was admitted to Baylor Rehabilitation Center in Dallas TX for specialized therapy which was not available in Kenya, at cost of $1500 a day. The funds from family and well-wishers could only keep her at Baylor Rehab for so long. Without funds she was recently discharged from inpatient rehabilitation and currently residing on a hospital partly sponsored apartment next to the hospital.
The Kenyan Diaspora Advisory Council of TX has joined in her recovery story to rally and lead the community here in Dallas, other states, and across the globe for a 5km walk/run for Jane Mwangi on April 30th 2016 at-
