Should Christians adopt polygamy to end the paternal crisis that has seen many children grow up without fathers?
Rev. Vincent Mulwa of Christ Pilgrims Restoration Centre says Christians must wake up to the reality that the number of marriageable women is higher than that of men, and men should be allowed to marry more than one wife to give opportunity to more women and children to have husbands and fathers respectively.
He says to fight the single mother menace, it is about the church to think again, admit that adult women are more than men, and make polygamy acceptable.
"For marriage purposes, girls mature earlier than the boys. That is where the whole complication comes in. We are in a situation that is difficult to resolve because of the 'religious foolishness' that the church has upheld," Mulwa says.
"No clerics want to be quoted to be the ones agreeing with me [on adopting polygamy]. They all fear their wives because everybody asks themselves, what will my wife say? Others fear what their congregations will say, but we are getting into moral irresponsibility by embracing monogamy as what is Christianity."
Mulwa says many parents never want their girls to get children before marriage or be a second wife. But when they see her age advance, they tell her as you look for a husband, make sure you get a child, and that is why it has become so normal.
He says when children leave form four, both boys and girls have attained 18 years of age. Girls can marry at this age but not boys, who will have to wait for at least six years to be mature for marriage, hence there is a difference of more than six years.
This means the wives' market will be receiving adult women but men will not be coming.
Also, you find the widows are more than the widowers everywhere. Insisting on one man one wife can't work in this scenario, Mulwa says.
"The church has kept quiet, we are not condemning girls for having children before marriage. Now women have taken advantage of that and they now want to be happily single mothers. It has become normal for women to have children out of wedlock, and they are serving in church as pastors and all that," he said.
PRO-WOMEN LAWS
The bishop says "pro-women" laws have encouraged women to jump out of marriages at every opportunity. He blames the government for going ahead with the child upkeep law that says a man who has sired a child must provide for that child, without asking why the man has not married the woman.
"A woman says I cannot get married because men are useless, yet she is raising her son, pampering him. Then I ask, woman, you don't want to get married because men are useless but you are bringing up a man. Who tells you that your son is not useless like men?" Mulwa says.
"These girls are running away from marriage very fast to go and be free. Others accuse the young husbands of being unfaithful, but when she quits marriage, is she going to be alone sexually? No. She is going to have several men. Girls don't want to get married because they have gotten a loophole in church that marriage is not a must, or a serious thing in the society, and they can live, have children and take care of them."
Mulwa says the problem is exacerbated by the fact that single women have become the mentors of girls, "and I must say we are headed for trouble" because the girls want to be happy single mothers, they have a loophole of being happily single, and on the other hand, men not being responsible.
"That is where the men are lacking wives, despite the girls just moving around having enough sex, each with their own child, or saying I will get a child when I want and with whom I want," he says.
"If all women were getting married, there would be no woman who would want to be single; they would all get married. It is not all men who are bad. In a village, you will find two or three men who are drunkards and useless, but we have responsible men there. And the responsible men should be allowed to take care of various women who don't have husbands, who have children outside wedlock."
Mulwa says the problem has been blaming men for all marital problems, and most have become brutal because of how their wives are disrespectful, because they know they can quit the marriage.
He says women should stick to marriages to gift their children with fathers around them, even if not the biological father.
"And after all, who are these single women having sex with? Isn't it the same married men? Then they should be wife number seven of that man and all their children will have fathers," Mulwa says.
"It is wrong to always look at the same corner, and this is why women are making noise all the time. We are single because men are bad. Yes, there are a few who I agree should remain without wives, but let those women get married to those responsible men they go to secretly, and stop doing it secretly."

Kenyan Catholic Priest Suspended for Rapping in Church [VIDEO]

Kenyan Catholic priest, Father Paul Ogola has reportedly been suspended by the church leadership for rapping in church.
The 45-year-old priest has been using rap music to urge youth to stop using drugs and to get involved in environmental and social justice issues. He recently hit media headlines over his unique way of preaching the gospel and discouraging social vices such as drug abuse.
“I use the rap music to bring … youths to the church. Thereafter, I bring them to Christ,” Father Paul said in a recent interview with a local media.
“I want to rescue millions of youths who are leaving the Church because we are not taking care of their interests. We want to keep them in church. They can sing, rap and dance for Christ as they learn other life changing strategies."
The Diocese of Homa Bay has now suspend the Priest for 12 months, with effect from June 3rd, 2018.  Fr Charles Kochiel, the Judicial Vicar of the inter-diocesan tribunal of the Archdiocese of Kisumu said Ogola was suspended over his conduct.
“We have suspended him for a year to give him time to reconsider his ways…every institution has its own code of conduct.”
Kochiel said Fr Ogola should have consulted with the bishops "to find out if what he was doing was in accordance with the Church doctrine.”
Fr ‘Masaa’ as he is commonly referred to in Rapogi parish would shift to his rapping regalia-black shorts, a white shirt and a headband, at the end of the mass and begin his rap sessions.

Global icon Oprah Winfrey is among 350 celebrities and notables who will accompany former US President Barrack Obama to Kenya on July 16.
Obama and his guests will attend the launch of Sauti Kuu, his half-sister Dr Auma Obama's NGO, in K'Ogelo, Siaya county.
The one-day visit is tightly scheduled.
Before they head to K'Ogelo, Obama, his family and Oprah will pay a courtesy call on President Uhuru Kenyatta and meet Opposition leader Raila Odinga in a tightly scheduled one-day visit.
It is understood that State House is considering honouring Obama for the role he played in putting Kenya on the world map.
Sources close to the family told the Star yesterday that Obama's team will include professionals, celebrities, philanthropists, clergy, activists, top lawyers, businessmen, diplomats and friends.
Although the visit is being treated as a top secret for security reasons, the Star got an exclusive sneak preview of the star-studded entourage. Oprah -- a darling of many TV viewers in Kenya and the world -- has indicated her interest in running for President of the United States on Obama's Democratic Party. She will be visiting Kenya for the first time.
The media mogul's fortune hit a record $4 billion (Sh400 billion) on Monday to make her the first black woman entrepreneur on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, a ranking of the world's 500 richest people. She's at 494.
Most of her money comes from ownership of the Oprah Winfrey Show, which had a 25-year run. The founder of her own cable network, Winfrey just announced a partnership with Apple Inc to produce original programmes and content.
Through her South Africa-based Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls, in its 10th year, the media mogul and self-made billionaire is developing leaders to play key roles in Africa.
In an exclusive interview with Forbes Woman Africa, Oprah Winfrey talked about where it all started--in Mandelas's home where she spent 10 days and shared 29 meals with the statesman and pledged to build a school for girls and invest in the people of South Africa.
MUTHAIGA TOURNAMENT
Oprah will accompany Obama to his father's rural home of K'Ogelo and attend a charity golf tournament in Muthaiga for the new NGO, the Sauti Kuu Foundation.
Well-known businessman and golfer John Simba is to play a round of golf with Obama.
The former US Preident is to travel to South Africa to deliver the 16th Nelson Mandela Annual Lecture in Johannesburg on July 17 .
US-based Senegalese musician Akon is also in delegation, together with Zimbabwe's music maestro Oliver Mutukudzi who will be travelling with his daughter Samona.
Others in the entourage are NBA Africa senior director Will Mbiakop and billionaire Nigerian businessman Aliko Dangote.
"The family wanted to make it a private launch [of the NGO] but they were to be informed that due to Obama's status it was a state visit," a State House official said.
BUSINESS LEADERS
Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga will host Obama where musician Suzanna Owiyo will sing.
Tim Jahnigen, founder of One World Futbol and Laila Alawa, the CEO and founder of The Tempest, are also in the entourage. One World Futbol designs soccer balls that last.
Inspired by the suffering of children in Dafur, The One World Play Project, which manufactures and distributes the One World Futbol, was founded in California in 2010 to manufacture, sell, and donate the balls.
The Tempest tells the stories of diverse millennial women.
Obama's delegation includes renowned global business leaders. They include Axel Bachmann, the general manager for sustainability at Coca Cola; Markus Baumann and the group company secretary the Union Bank of Switzerland.
Others are Barbro Ciakudia, vice president for business development at Invest Africa; and Vik Bakhru, a physician, entrepreneur and currently CEO at ConsenjoSano.
The firm specialises in venture-backed health technology that simplifies and lowers the cost of care.
Invest Africa is a private investment club based in Mayfair, US, that identifies opportunities and channels capital and expertise into Africa.
The delegation also has a host of celebrities and sportsmen: Ingo Anderbrgge, a retired German footballer; Wang Bing, regarded as a foremost documentary filmmaker; and Sarah Berghorst, the executive director of OneGoal.
The Chicago-based organisation offers an innovative, three-year college persistence programme that identifies, trains and supports effective teaching in high school.
