Kenya Airways' Maiden Direct Flight to the US Receives Water Salute at JKF Airport in New York

Kenya Airways' maiden direct flight to the United States has received a water salute upon touching the ground at the JKF International Airport in New York.
The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner (5Y-KZE) plane KQ002 landed at the New York airport at 7:44am on Monday.
Water salute normally occurs for ceremonial purposes and is a touching airport tradition to honor military events, new flight service, anniversaries, noteworthy events at airport and foreign dignitaries.
It involves fire-fighting engines lining up on the sides of the taxiway and plumes of water sprinkled over an arriving or departing aircraft. It denotes respect and greeting.
Among the passengers aboard the historic flight was Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Monica Juma and US Ambassador to Kenya Robert Godec.
President Kenyatta flagged off the aircraft at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Sunday night and handed over the Kenyan flag to CS Juma while Ambassador Godec was given the US flag by a representative of the US Embassy.
Kenya joins South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Cape Verde, Ethiopia, Ghana and Morocco as African countries operating nonstop flights to the US.
The plane carrying 234 passengers left Nairobi on Sunday at 10:59pm, cruising at 888 km/hour. The long-haul flight lasted 15 hours.

I Will Retire in 2022, President Kenyatta Says

President Kenyatta says he will retire from politics once his second and final term in office expires in 2022.
In an interview with CNN's Richard Quest, Kenyatta says he is not interested in amending the Constitution to extend his stay in power despite calls by a section of the political class to extend his term.
“Your term of office ends in 2022. You have said the Constitution prevents you from standing again. Are you trying to going to try and seek to change the Constitution?” Quest asks President Kenyatta who responds with an emphatic “No.”
“I am not interested,” adds President Kenyatta.
The President explains that the push for referendum by a group of political leaders is about reducing the cost of running government and not extending his tenure.
“People are talking about Constitutional change not necessarily that they are desirous for the president to seek a third term but because of issues related to the cost of running this Constitution,” says Kenyatta.
His sentiments come a day after a section of leaders from Mt Kenya region said they will seek to introduce changes to the law to create a Prime Minister position for President Kenyatta.
Led by Murang'a Senator Irungu Kang'ata, the leaders say President Uhuru is 'too young' to retire in 2022.
The leaders converged for a parliamentary group meeting in Naivasha on Monday and creating a post for Kenyatta is said to be one of the agenda of the retreat.

Once again sad news from Saudi......whats does the GoK wait for? they should absolutely ban her citizens for going anywhere in Mid East nations as domestic workers. How many more pathetic conditions and dead bodies will it reach to trigger the actions from Government of Kenya.
It totally clear that the Embassy and consulates are good for nothing there. The GoK is just ONLY focuses on the diaspora remittances?

Kenyans need to know that Arabs are ISHMAELITES; the RUTHless people to whom (in the Bible) Joseph's brothers Sold him to SLAVERY (to Egypt). Case in Point: Kenyans need to AVOID these Slave Masters as FAST as Possible. Better to find a Job in JACOB (Israel) or somewhere Else than in ISHMAEL (Arabya). Amen!!!

Don't judge Islamic religion because of people's misdeeds! How many European employers who are Christians, do mistreat ladies who work for them? How many have been forced to have sex with dogs? Are they Muslims?
If something happens, you put the blame on Muslims, how dare are you?
Just say Arabs are not good people instead of blaming Islamic religion!
We worship God as you do, the only One Almighty God and let's respect other people's religion!
When I'm a bad person judge me personal and not my religion!

Kenya Airways' Return Direct Flight from New York Lands Safely at JKIA

Kenya Airways' return direct flight from New York has landed safely at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi.
The Boeing B787-8 Dreamliner (5Y-KZE) K003 carrying 234 passengers arrived in Nairobi at around 9:30 am on Tuesday, slightly above 13 hours since it left New York's JFK International Airport on Monday.
The long-haul flight was expected to touch the ground at JKIA at between 10:30am and 11am but landed earlier than scheduled. On arrival at the Nairobi airport, the flight also received a water salute.
It was received by Deputy President President William Ruto and other top government officials. Ruto has challenged Kenya Airways to improve its customer services.
"It would be an exercise in futility for the country to celebrate such a milestone only to be crippled by poor customer relations," Ruto says.
"Good customer service is the heart of every successful organisation. I want to appeal to Kenya Airways to up their game when it comes to this."
"Let our guests and your clients feel proud of your services. Even Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) must take this advantage and offer an exceptional welcome to our visitors."
