A Kenyan man in Inidiana has been arrested after he allegedly attacked his wife using an axe.
37-year-old Joseph Waithira from Warsaw City, Kosciusko County, Indiana was arrested on Monday night after reportedly striking his wife, Sandy Waithira, 33, with an axe, leaving her with serious injuries.
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department said officers were called at around 6:15 pm Monday to a house at 3932 W. Old Road 30 on Warsaw’s northwest side on a report of domestic violence.
A report by police said Ms Waithira was found with “extensive head injuries” from blows from a “weighted edge weapon" and was rushed to a Fort Wayne hospital in serious condition.
Joseph was treated for minor injuries at Kosciusko Community Hospital before he was arrested and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on a preliminary charge of battery causing serious bodily injury.
