Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested two women believed to be part of a gang that has been drugging unsuspecting victims before stealing from them.
The two, identified as Mary Nyaguthii Mathari and Mary Nyamwea Gathiaka, have been arrested by DCI detectives in Thika town, Kiambu County following a tip-off from members of the public.
DCI says the two suspects were in possession of several SIM cards and several Stilnox tablets, a drug used to stupefy people.
"Detectives working on intelligence arrested two ladies; Mary Nyaguthii Mathari and Mary Nyamwea Gathiaka in Thika for drugging unsuspecting victims before robbing them off. Several Tablets of Stilnox Drugs used to stupefy people in clubs & several SIM cards recovered," DCI says in a tweet.
The suspects have allegedly been conducting their activities within Nairobi and surrounding towns including Thika. They will be arraigned in court on Monday.
