Raila Pocketing Sh800, 000 Per Month from Gov't after Handshake with President Kenyatta

Opposition leader Raila Odinga is reportedly pocketing Sh800,000 monthly from the government following his handshake with President Kenyatta in March last year.
The Standard reports the monthly payment is part of the hefty retirement package that he's entitled to as a former Prime Minister and which had been withheld by the government during President Uhuru's first-term.
The Retirement Benefits (Deputy President and Designated State Officers) Act 2015, states that the former PM is entitled to 80 percent of his last pay, which translates to about Sh800, 000 per month.
In addition, he's entitled to two vehicles including one four-wheel drive car, replaceable once every four years.
Other benefits include bodyguards, a fully paid office, three drivers, a personal assistant, an accountant, two secretaries, housekeepers, senior support staff, gardeners, cooks, and cleaners.
Speaking to the Standard, National Super Alliance (Nasa) Chief Executive Norman Magaya confirmed that the government has already sent officers to Raila's office in Nairobi to carry out a valuation before beginning to pay rent.
Odinga's lawyer Paul Mwangi has also confirmed the reports saying: "Mzee (Raila) is only getting what he is entitled to as a retired Prime Minister."
Odinga was in October 2018 appointed the High Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa by AU Commission Chairperson Moussa Faki.

When you see these tyrants we call our leaders spending our money as if it grows on trees, always remember the situation in our nation: over 42 percent of our people live under poverty line (UNICEF). 10 percent of the population control nearly 50 percent of the wealth of Kenya. There is no adequate health care, clean water, basic amenities, education and millions don't have enough food for the day. There's no descent housing and shelter for millions of people. Meanwhile, Raila, a man who does nothing but loitering around dividing and inciting one community against another is collecting millions of shillings every month. And it's not Raila alone. The do nothing leaders, elites, government procurement thieves etc, are the parasites in paradise while majority of Kenyans depend on prayers everyday. End these handshake Dynasties and fight for our freedom and our wealth. Our country, our money our vote- think different.

Kenya should be destroyed and rebuilt from scratch. There is just too much that is wrong with it. How about his wife? What is her pension after all spouses in kenya are entitled to benefits too. I can understand when my taxes are used to pay my president, my prime minister or my deputy president but those are women are not our wives why should we pay them?

Because of Raila, Kenya is one of the freest societies in the world. He has worked all his adult life to achieve this. I would suggest a pension of 8 million for this great Kenyan.
If he fought for this country then he should not be participating in bankrupting it because it defeats the whole purpose- well unless he was doing it for his own personal gain.

Royston " How much land (money and for that matter anything else).
In the long run, only his burial site 6x6.
In the end it's the public's burden but your shame.
In the long run, just like Europe, we Will be left with empty buildings that we used to call churches, empty buildings that we used to call malls and all other manner of western weaknesses that we are welcoming to our country in a hurry.
God save Kenya. God give Kenya leaders not politicians. God help Kenya

WOW no wonder politicians kill each other to get agood position in the pecking order. This entitlement is too much. Are we sure that it's not a typo with an extra zero or two.
Agood christian should turn down this pu lic fleecing.Especially one who does not need it...
That handshake has turned to be a golden handshake to RAO but a burden to the tax payer.
Ihope that RAOhad patented that handshake. Otherwise the country will go broke if we have to pay 10 gluttons that much.

Some thing is terribly wrong with the way we spend public money. How can that much go to one person who does notPRODUCE but just consume. Shouldn't this kind of money be used to revive textile industries mitumba are supposedly threatening.
Who ever drafted this entitlement should be charged with misappropriation of public funds.
