US Donates 10 Pickup Trucks to Kenya's DCI and EACC to Combat corruption and Drug Trafficking

The United States has donated 10 vehicles to Kenya’s investigating agencies to help boost their efforts in combating corruption and drug trafficking.
The 10 Toyota Hilux pickups were handed over to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) by US Ambassador to Kenya Kyle McCarter on Friday.
The brand new vehicles were donated by the US Department of Defense in collaboration with the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and US Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).
“The important work of the DCI and EACC in rooting out corruption and holding corrupt individuals accountable is critical to a strong democracy,” said Amb. McCarter.
He added: "During difficult times, neither law enforcement officers nor true friends shrink from their commitments, and the United States will continue to stand with Kenya.”
He further noted that the donation underscores the US commitment to partnering with Kenya in the war against corruption, drug trafficking, and other transnational crimes.
“The United States is committed to working with its Kenyan law enforcement partners to help preserve and strengthen the rule of law in Kenya,” said McCarter.
