Police Arrest Kenyan Millionaire Witchdoctor Annah Mutheu after Raid of Her Palatial Residence

Police have arrested a popular Machakos-based witchdoctor believed to be part of a car theft syndicate.
Annah Mutheu was arrested at her palatial home in Tala, Machakos County following an operation by Flying Squad officers that lasted fifteen hours.
The more than 30 heavily armed officers led by Flying Squad boss Musa Yego stormed the herbalist's residence at 11pm on Monday and left at midday on Tuesday.
Speaking to journalists after the raid, Yego said they had arrested the witchdoctor and one other suspect who led the them to the scene.
“We have found engines, gear boxes and 130 national identity cards of different persons in the house. We find it interesting that the IDs were found here and we are still investigating the circumstances under which they found their way here,” said Yego.
The police boss said 'Dr Mutheu' is believed to be the head of a syndicate that steals vehicles from all corners of the country and later sells them to unsuspecting buyers at cheaper prices.
“We are warning Kenyans who intend to buy vehicles not to do so from the black market because a big number of stolen vehicles are sold to unsuspecting persons. We have also established many garages across the country are involved in dubious activities,” he said.
More than 10 vehicles, many of them four-wheel drive, were found parked at her compound, with officers saying Mutheu was at pain to explain their ownership.
Mutheu, who moves around in expensive cars, is reported to have heavily invested in petroleum merchandise as well as commercial and rental buildings.
She allegedly owns apartments in Machakos, Nairobi and Mombasa as well as filling stations in Komarock, Nairobi and Kenol in Kangundo. Her Tala mansion is valued at around Sh40 million.
