Trump Calls Uhuru to Offer US Support for Kenya’s Covid-19 Fight

US President Trump on Thursday held telephone conversations with two African leaders, including Kenya's Uhuru Kenyatta.
Trump and Kenyatta talked about Kenya’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, which continues to wreak havoc across the world, according to BBC.
He also held a separate phone conversation with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa on the same topic.
In his discussion with the two African leaders, Trump offered assistance to Kenya and South Africa to support their efforts in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
He said the US stands with the people of Kenya and South Africa in the battle against the disease and agreed to remain in close communication with Kenyatta.
Last week, the US pledged an additional Sh50 million towards Kenya’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic, raising the total US support for Kenya to Sh100 million.
As of Friday morning, Kenya had recorded 320 cases of Covid-19, 14 deaths, and 89 recoveries. South Africa has 3,953 cases, 75 fatalities, and 1,400 recoveries.
